Day 2: Havana
This morning, after breakfast, you’ll join a walking tour of Old Havana. Learn about the restoration projects that are integral to preserving this famous neighborhood’s history and architecture.
In Old Town, your group will stop at the Rations Store, Farmers Market, and learn more about daily Cuban life. Stop at El Café where you’ll have a light lunch with sandwiches on fresh sourdough bread. You’ll also meet young artist Arian Irsula and chat about young artists’ perspectives of Cuba at their Ateliers while enjoying a refreshing cocktail.
Afterwards, continue to a special community project called Muraleando, a neighborhood art gallery. After some free time, the day will end with a drive down Havana’s Malecón in an antique car to dinner at a top Cuban paladar. La Guarida is the scene of the Oscar-nominated movie “Strawberry and Chocolate” and is one of the hardest tables to get in Havana.
Day 3: Havana – Las Terrazas – Havana
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel and then depart for Las Terrazas, an eco-community in Pinar del Río located within the Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve. Founded in 1968, it’s a part of the Green Revolution within the UNESCO-designated Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve. Visit the reforestation projects, a small community school, a polyclinic to learn more about the Cuban healthcare system, and a local art studio.
Make a stop at a Finca for a delicious lunch with products directly from the fields and production of the house. Get to know the owners of Nicaragua who worked in Paris for years before finding their home in Havana.
In the evening, enjoy an exclusive dinner show in Casa Miglis, one of the top restaurants of Havana, hosting one of the top contemporary dance ensembles in town. The young talents, the “Havana Queens,” will impress you with their dynamic show while Swedish Chef, Jonas Anderson, cooks a fusion of Cuban and Swedish cuisine.
Day 4: Havana – Cienfuegos – Trinidad
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then depart for Cienfuegos–fondly nicknamed the Pearl of the South for its charming atmosphere and landscape.
Upon arrival, you’ll directly join a lunch where you’ll be feasting near the calming sea. Afterwards, your group will embark on a guided city tour showcasing the best of local history and culture. Begin at the enchanting Palacio del Valle, a stunning example of Moorish-inspired architecture, then continue to the storied Terry Theater, an iconic cultural landmark. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through Parque Martí and along the lively Boulevard, where you'll see local artists.
Conclude your tour with a vibrant live performance by local talent—a fitting finale to your cultural immersion—before setting off toward the charming city of Trinidad.
Day 5: Trinidad
Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel before setting out for an exciting day in Trinidad. Your first stop is the Valley of the Sugar Mills, where you’ll learn about the area’s historic role in sugar production. Enjoy meaningful conversations with local farmers and workers over lunch as they share insights into their daily lives and the region’s agricultural heritage.
Continue the experience with live music at Barrancón, where local rhythms set the tone for the afternoon. Then, embark on a walking tour through the heart of Trinidad. Visit either the Palacio Cantero or the Architecture Museum before wandering the cobblestone streets of Plaza Mayor. Surrounded by colorful facades and colonial-era charm, you’ll be transported back in time.
Afterwards, enjoy an Afro-Cuban musical performance at the Congos Reales before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Day 6: Trinidad – Cienfuegos – Havana
After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to the Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos, a Cuban national monument. You’ll explore a fascinating array of tropical plants and trees as you learn about the region’s unique biodiversity.
Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local paladar, or a privately owned restaurant in the heart of Cienfuegos. Then, continue your journey back to Havana, where dinner awaits at La Mansión Castillo, a hidden gem tucked away in the vibrant Vedado neighborhood.
Following your meal, you may transfer back to the hotel or opt for an evening at the renowned Fábrica de Arte Cubano (FAC). Recognized by Time Magazine as one of the “World’s 100 Greatest Places” in 2019, FAC showcases contemporary art galleries, modern dance performances, live concerts, DJ sets, and more—all under one roof.
