Day 1: Casablanca
Welcome to Casablanca, one of Africa's largest and most vibrant cities! Upon arrival at the airport, you'll be warmly greeted by your tour director. Shuttles will be available to transfer you to the hotel to relax and settle in. This evening, join a delightful welcome dinner to kick off your adventure.
Day 2: Casablanca – Marrakech
After breakfast, you’ll embark on an orientation tour of Casablanca led by your tour manager. The journey begins with the only Jewish Museum in the Arabic-speaking world. Then, continue for an interior visit of the Mosque Hassan II, the largest mosque in the country and the seventh largest in the world. The next stop is the Ain Dia Corniche for a pleasant stroll along the coast before stopping at Mohammed V Square.
This comprehensive city tour also includes the Habous Quarter, one of the oldest areas in Casablanca. It marries the best of traditional Moroccan architecture with modern facilities and French ideals–even the mosque fronts onto a strip of grassy lawn just like a village Christian church. After the visit, we’ll leave Casablanca and set off on a journey to Marrakech.
Day 3: Marrakech
Enjoy breakfast before joining a city tour of Marrakech, the red city. The tour begins with a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque, then the 19th-century stunning Bahia Palace. The building includes 150 rooms, countless courtyards and interior gardens, a veritable labyrinth of corridors, a Koranic school, hammams, a harem, and stables.
Afterwards, you’ll explore the artisan quarters and colorful souks to embrace the daily life of the Marrakchi people. Moving on to Dar El Bacha, which houses the Museum of Confluences, you’ll admire Riad architecture in the medina with Moroccan Zellige (colorful geometric tilework), intricate white plasterwork, and heavy carved cedar-wood lintels.
Before sunset, stroll through Jemaa El Fna to marvel at jugglers, dancers, fortune tellers, storytellers, and traditional musicians. Head back to your hotel before transferring to a local restaurant in the medina for a traditional Moroccan dinner with entertainment.
Day 4: Marrakech – Ourika Valley – Marrakech
Today, after breakfast, you'll explore Marrakech at your leisure. Alternatively, you can add an optional activity (additional information below).
In the afternoon, travel to Marrakech for a special cooking class on the terrace with a spectacular view of the Atlas Mountains. The 3-star New York Times Chef, Azzeddine Bennouna, and his wife, Marie, will teach you the secrets of Moroccan cuisine. Best of all, the food you prepare is served for dinner! This visit also includes a tour of the property, fresh-picked produce from the garden (if season permits), and the chance to jump in the pool (if season permits) while the food is cooking!
Optional Activities:
Berber Experience in the Atlas Mountains
Enjoy an enriching cultural program in the stunning landscapes of the Amazigh (Berber) region. You’ll drive through the Imlil Valley, renowned for lush fruit orchards—apple, walnut, almond, and peach trees—and a favorite stop for hikers.
Upon arrival, prepare for a scenic trek (a mule will be at your disposal to carry you to the hilltop), where you’ll be greeted by a local family. Step inside their home and savor a traditional Berber meal, complete with freshly baked bread and refreshing mint tea. With the assistance of your private tour guide, engage with the family and gain authentic insights into their daily life and rich cultural heritage.
After this incredible experience, you’ll cross the Kik Plateau to return to Marrakech in the mid-afternoon.
Traditional Hammam and Massage
The hammam is a must-do experience in Morocco, often at the top of every traveler’s bucket list. Originally a public bathhouse, it remains a therapeutic sanctuary for cleansing and relaxation.
You’ll be submerged in a complete relaxation experience within an authentic oriental décor while listening to your own body in an atmosphere filled with water, oils, essences, and perfumes. Enjoy a 30-minute scrub with black soap or soothing spices, eliminating toxins from your body.
After the blissful Hammam, you’ll head to the massage room to indulge in a 30-minute traditional Moroccan massage, which eliminates tensions and restores energy and vitality.
Day 5: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades
After breakfast, travel across the High Atlas Mountains and through stunning Tichka Pass on your way to Boumalne Dades.
You’ll stop for a brief tour of Ait Ben Haddou, a unique UNESCO World Heritage site. This giant fortification is a unique example of pisé clay architecture and a popular filming location for movies and TV shows, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
Enjoy lunch on your own before arriving in Dades, located at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here, you’ll depart for an orientation tour of the canyons and breathtaking landscapes. Travel to your hotel afterwards, where you’ll enjoy a delectable dinner.
Day 6: Dades – Erfoud
Begin your day with breakfast before setting out for Erfoud, often called the Oasis of the Sahara Desert. En route, pause to admire the breathtaking Todra Gorge—one of Morocco’s most striking natural wonders—where sheer limestone cliffs soar nearly 1,000 feet high, framing a narrow canyon that draws photographers and nature lovers alike.
Continue your journey through the changing landscapes to Erfoud, known as the Gateway to the Desert. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and unwind before sitting down to a relaxing dinner, reflecting on the day’s scenic highlights.
Day 7: Erfoud – Rissani – Tissardmine – Erfoud
After breakfast, enjoy an unforgettable full-day excursion through the largest sand desert in Morocco–Erg Chebbi. Your adventure begins in the town of Rissani, formerly a caravan center and still an important commercial center in the region.
Then, proceed into the desert via a 4×4 caravan and discover various small villages until you reach Tissardmine. This serene village is the ideal spot to enjoy a sumptuous lunch before ascending to the peak of Erg Chebbi.
This stunning view of the vast surrounding desert will take your breath away, and you’ll trade a motor vehicle for a camel in an authentic Sahara Desert experience. One of the highlights of the trip is journeying through the Merzouga Dunes on camelback! This excursion is guaranteed to leave you with memories that’ll last a lifetime!
Afterward sunset, return to your hotel for dinner, and then the remainder of the night is at your leisure to enjoy.
Day 8: Erfoud – Fez
Enjoy breakfast to start off your morning before heading to Fez through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountain range. Along the way, you’ll be treated to beautiful landscapes of thick woods filled with lush cedar and oak trees. These enchanting landscapes will delight your senses while passing through Ifrane, a picturesque ski town, and Azrou, known for cedar wood handicrafts.
Upon entering Fez, it’s essential to take in the breathtaking view of the ancient city from the hill overlooking the medina—an awe-inspiring sight that captures the essence of the city’s rich cultural heritage.
Day 9: Fez
Begin the morning with breakfast before heading out to explore Fez, the capital of Morocco for more than 400 years and the oldest of the imperial cities. With the help of a local expert, you’ll tour the Fez el Bali Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander the world-famous souks and enjoy shopping for authentic Moroccan carpets, leathers, and ceramics.
After admiring the fine craftsmanship, take a break to eat lunch at a traditional Ria within the medina.
Your tour of the city also includes the opportunity to visit the Nejjarine Fountains and Museum, as well as the 14th-century Attarine Medersa (Koranic school). Making your way towards Fez Jdid, take a break to explore the Jewish Quarter and the Royal Palace in the modern district of the city.
Day 10: Fez
After a hearty breakfast, you can spend the day at your leisure exploring or relaxing in beautiful Fez. Alternatively, you may sign up for an optional activity that will enrich your mind, body, and soul (additional information below).
Optional Activity:
Moroccan Wine Tasting with Lunch at Domaine de la Zouina
Explore the world of Moroccan wine on a charming visit to Domaine de la Zouina and the beautiful vineyards of the French winemaker Christophe Gribelin.
Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a tour of the impressive vineyard and facilities where Christophe and his crew produce three ranges of wines: red, white, and rosé. This is complemented by a lesson about the origins of grapes, what it’s like to grow vines in Morocco, and how the production process works.
You’ll also learn about the unique Moroccan Gris Wine, an interesting blend of rosé and white. Allow yourself to be guided through the cellars, then discover the vineyard’s local products during a lunch where five wines from the Domaine will be served.
Day 11: Fez – Volubilis – Rabat
After breakfast, begin the serene and stunning drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital and the 5th largest city in the country. En route, we’ll make a stop to explore Volubilis, some of the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa. Complete with triumphal arches, a grand basilica, and an imposing forum, the Volubilis skyline brims with iconic examples of Roman architecture.
En route, you’ll stop to have lunch on your own, then continue the journey towards Rabat. Here, you’ll take a tour of the 19th-century Royal Palace and the city’s “Gate of the Winds” (also known as Bab Rouah). Additionally, you’ll see Hassan Tower, the minaret of an incomplete mosque originally intended to be the world's largest.
Continue to the Kasbah of the Udayas, built in the mid-12th century, where you’ll walk through the French-colonial gardens and explore the fortress built to shield royalty from attacks.
Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner with your group at a local restaurant, followed by an overnight stay at your hotel.
